I'm so glad you're here. I started The Root Collective out of a deep desire to see our world be a better place. I had spent some time in a slum community in Guatemala and realized one simple fact:

I came to understand that you and me could make the world a better place simply by how we shopped. We could choose to spend our money with companies who paid workers a fair wage for fair work so they can take care of their families. People like Elizabeth, Carlos, and Isabel (who are just a few of our makers).
How crazy awesome is that? We think that something so beautiful can come out of something as simple as a pair of shoes or a bag. It can mean a mom can put food on the table. It can mean a dad can send his kids to school. And it can mean that you and I have something beautiful to wear with an incredible story in return.
